About Saint Paul's College

Saint Paul's College is a private, self-financed, Christian Minority Educational Institution of higher learning, owned and managed by the Tripura Christian Welfare Society (TCWS), a union of 19 associations. Dedicated to the advancement of scholarship, faith, and respect for human dignity, Saint Paul's College operates under Tripura Christian Welfare Society (TCWS), registered (No. 3 of 1960-61) in accordance with the Societies Registration Act of 1860, to serve efficiently the people of North East India and Tripura in particular. Saint Paul's School is one of the oldest and premier schools in the state of Tripura, located in the heart of the capital city, Agartala. It is named after Saint Paul. The New Zealand Baptist Missionary Society (NZBMS) established a society for social work and School in 1943. After 82 years of running St. Paul's School successfully, TBCU took a significant step forward by establishing a college. This decision was approved in the 84th Union Council meeting. Dr. Chawngthanpari, M.A., M.Phil., B.Ed., Ph.D., former Principal of HATIM, Mizoram, was appointed by the Saint Paul's College Governing Body on June 20, 2025. Saint Paul's College is a private English-Medium institution founded by the TBCU. In keeping with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, SPC aspires to transform into a vibrant multidisciplinary institution. The Biblical Foundation is based on, "not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit", says the Lord Almighty. (Zechariah 4:6).

NZBMS established a society for social work and School for the welfare of the people in this region.

College resolved
Committee unanimously resolved to establish Saint Paul's College in A.D. Nagar, West Tripura. Dr. Chawngthanpari appointed Principal on 20 June 2025.
2026
College founded
Saint Paul's College founded on 3 July 2026. Provisional affiliation to Tripura University; FYUP programmes begin.
